Created during the COVID-19 pandemic, Eternal Light is a community commission and arts collaboration with students from the Pacific Northwest designed to bring happiness and hope to our world. The  “musical collage” is a compilation of the students’ original music, poetry, artwork and dance inspired by Lux Aeterna, or “Eternal Light,” from Mozart’s Requiem.

To participate:

The call for submissions occurs in the summer/fall and the final production premieres in the winter. Send us your idea that represents our theme of eternal light as:

  • Written music via manuscript or computerized notation 10 to 30+ seconds in length
(e.g., a rhythm, melody, bass line, chord or harmonic sequence)
  • A sound recording of your creation
  • A video of you singing, dancing or playing
  • A picture, photo or painting that speaks to eternal light to accompany the music
  • Text, poetry or lyrics that we can record with the music

Send your part—along with your name, age and school—to: info@symphonytacoma.org.
